Blondie became comic book heroes

The band Blondie has announced the release of the graphic novel «No matter what» (Against the Odds).

It will tell the biography of the band in the language of comics, as well as illustrate ten of their hits. The book was written by Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti (who relaunched the Harley Quinn series for DC Comics) and artist John McCree. Conner has known Blondie for a long time and witnessed their rise and rise in Manhattan in the 1970s.

«As a teenager, Debbie Harry was one of the superheroes I wanted to be. In fact, I still want to be her», — says Amanda.

— I think the musical picture of New York in those years is impossible without Blondie, — says her husband Jimmy Palmiotti. «My life has been filled with comics and music, and I’ve never had a more exciting time in my life than when Blondie hit the music scene.

«Against the Odds» is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2021 by Z2 Comics.
