The nominees for the MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) were announced on October 20, 2021
Justin Bieber became the leader in the number of nominations: he claims prizes in eight categories, including «artist of the year» and twice in the nomination «song of the year». Doja Cat and Lil Nas X have six mentions each, Ed Sheeran, Olivia Rodrigo and Kid Laroi have five each. In addition to Bieber, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Ed Sheeran, the Weeknd and last year’s winner of this award Lady Gaga claim the title of «artist of the year».
The MTV EMA 2021 ceremony will take place on November 14 in Budapest, Hungary, at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna hall and will be broadcast live on MTV channels in 180 countries.
