The world superstar, Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson, has announced the release of her ninth studio album When Christmas Comes Around…, which released on October 15 via Atlantic Records.
The album, preceded by the incredibly bold lead single «Christmas Isn’t Cancelled (Just You)», explores a wide range of festive emotions and experiences based on Clarkson’s incomparable vocal prowess.
«My goal in choosing this lyric as the title of this project was to evoke a sense of reality of the fact that we are probably all emotionally in very different places, «when Christmas is coming». Some of us are consumed by a new love, some are grieving over the loss, some are full of optimism about the upcoming new year, others are elated that they will spend a well-deserved time away from the chaos that our working life can sometimes bring us. Wherever you are and whatever you’ve been through, I wanted everyone to be able to get into the main idea of this album. The 15-track compilation includes new original songs and Christmas classics, as well as stunning collaborations with Ariana Grande («Santa, Can’t You Hear Me»), Chris Stapleton («Glow») and Brett Eldredge (the 2020 hit «Under The Mistletoe»). When Christmas Comes Around… marks Clarkson’s next album since Meaning of Life 2017 and her second Christmas-themed release, after Wrapped In Red 2013.
The songs on this album seem timeless, like a time capsule. They were inspired by The Carpenters, Judy Garland and Rosemary Clooney. The album cover is stylized as a glamorous old-school photo.
